Samesyn

Samesyn is a small 28-seat restaurant on Bell Street in Torquay run by chef Graham Jefferies. It has two hats from the Good Food Guide and is about 20 minutes from Little George. Easily our favourite dining experience on the coast in a long time.

The food is creative, seasonal and built around a zero-waste philosophy. Every dish includes at least one ingredient that would normally be thrown out. It sounds worthy, but it does not taste like a compromise. The flavours are incredible!

The chefs cook, serve and explain each dish themselves. It is serious food without the stiffness.

All profits go to Feed Me, a local charity that rescues food headed for landfill and gets it to people facing food insecurity. So your dinner is doing something useful beyond feeding you.

The cocktails are a must try, too.
